Drawing is the first thing I fell in love with. Being an only child until I was 11 grew rise to an active imagination, creating worlds on paper, adventures, stories to entertain my parents and neighbours (whether they wanted to hear them or not!). This continued throughout my life manifesting in so many ways; as a visual stylist for The Bay, a Window Designer for Saks Fifth Avenue in Toronto, a Prop Maker, a Creative Director for fashion photoshoots, an Event Organizer and Curator for two local Art Galleries. Throughout those years I completed commissions for those seeking to freeze a moment in time; with a loved one who had passed, or a memory of great joy, a church or wedding where the union between two soul mates is witnessed, a warm embrace with a cherished pet. Capturing something indefinable, a spark of energy transfers between the subject and myself, whether I have met them or not.
I primarily work in oils because the glazing technique allows me to build layer upon layer of paint creating a brilliant vibrance and luminosity. I have also worked in watercolours and gouache, and I sketch in charcoal and pencil frequently.
Please enjoy my site and reach out if you’d like to chat about creating something personal for yourself or a loved one!
